Zachary Barringer Student Life Committee Chairperson

I grew up in Michigan, and got my BSE in Material Science from the University of Michigan. I came to RPI in 2019 for my PhD. I study advanced optical and electron materials, including phase change oxides and multiferroics, using coherent x-ray sources . I joined student government to advocate for mental health and wellness resources for RPI students, especially graduate students who suffered from a massive mental health problem even before Covid-19. Now, as Graduate Council President I help organize events and support for Graduate Students, and together with my role as a Graduate Senator continue my advocacy fro graduate students needs.
