Academic Affairs Committee

The Academic Affairs Committee (AAC) is responsible for initiatives and legislation pertinent to academic curricula, academic advising, post-graduate success, the Registrar’s office, and student-faculty relations. They make sure students have access to academic resources and have a fair voice in student-faculty matters.

Updates on Library Hours and Study Spaces

We are still working on the functionality for committee subpages. Until they are ready, updates on this project will be posted here.

As many students have noted, the library is closing earlier this semester and going forward, leaving many students without quiet study spaces. The library division staff met with the Senate on September 21st, and AAC sourced questions from students. The questions and answers are available here: https://rpi.box.com/v/f26-library-report

As mentioned in the report, AAC is looking into alternative buildings to get hours extended for.

• Update 9/28/2026: AAC is in contact with the Office of Undergraduate Education and discussing possible options.
