Nicholas Thompson

As a member of the Executive Board, I am hoping to work on issues which impact Graduate students on campus. I’m also excited to be working with various clubs on campus to make sure they have someone to talk to.

I’m a Ph.D. student at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) studying Nuclear Engineering and Science. I graduated RPI in 2011 with a B.S. and a M.Eng. in Nuclear Engineering. I am now working on my Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering and Science, and am an NRC licensed Senior Reactor Operator. I was also the President of the RPI ANS section from 2012-2013. I was also the Chair of the Nuclear Engineering Student Delegation in 2014. Some of my research interests include nuclear data, reactor design, accelerator technologies and applications, and nuclear energy policy.
