WHEREAS the murder of George Floyd and ongoing civil rights movement that followed have rekindled a community-wide effort of improving diversity, inclusion, and anti-racism within our campus community;

WHEREAS the RPI Administration and the Student Union continue to recognize the deep racial injustices in our nation and the exploitation of Black, Latinx, and Indigenous lives that built Rensselaer’s history; and

I move that the Rensselaer Union Executive Board approve the remaining funds after the 2020 Class Councils Senior Week Festivities up to $15,000 be donated to the Class of 2020 Senior Gift, the Student Relief Fund. Any additional leftover funds will be returned to the Union.                               

I move that the Rensselaer Union Executive Board confirm UPAC’s appointment of Eddie Weisser as the UPAC General Chairperson, effective immediately.

I move that the Rensselaer Union Executive Board approve the use of up to $1,500 from FY20 Club Contingencies for the use of the third party voting system, Simply Voting for Spring 2020 GM Week Elections.

I move that the Rensselaer Union Executive Board approve the changes to the Rensselaer Union Executive Board Bylaws as attached.   

I move that the Rensselaer Union Executive Board approve the McNeil Room Flag Proposal to reorient the flags, add an identifying plaque, and a statement of welcome to solidify the Rensselaer Union's commitment to inclusion.

I move that the Rensselaer Union Executive Board reallocate $1245 from FY20 Club Contingencies to the newly approved program in Outing Club's budget for FY20 for the purpose of Spring 2020 Regional Championship Rock Climbing Competition.

I move that the Rensselaer Union Executive Board approve Outing Club's proposal for a new program, entitled Rock Climbing Competitions, which entails traveling and competing in rock climbing competitions.

I move that the Rensselaer Union Executive Board permit Outing Club to compete in Rock Climbing Competitions with the understanding that it is not in their club purpose, on the contingency that they update their constitution to include competing in their club purpose by the end of the Spring 2020 semester. Any funding passed for Rock Climbing Competitions will be revoked if their constitution is not updated by the end of the Spring 2020 semester in accordance with this motion.

I move that the Rensselaer Union Executive Board approve the purchase of Epson Perfection V800 Photo Scanner by the Photo Club using insurance money.
