The Elections Policy Review Committee is an ad hoc senate committee tasked with reviewing the election operation and oversight policies contained in the Senate bylaws and the operational procedures used by the Rules and Elections Committee. The committee is tasked with presenting its findings, and any suggested to the revisions the senate bylaws to reflect these recommendations to the senate. There are currently two open seats on the Student Senate: Community Relations Committee Chairperson and Independent Senator. CRC deals with improving relations and participation of members of the RPI community with our surroundings, including local schools, the city of Troy, and others. The Independent Senator is a senator who is not affiliated with any IFC/PanHel organizations on campus. Both nominations according to the Senate bylaws are made by the Grand Marshal, though the choice for Independent Senator will be made in conjunction with the current Independent Senator and senior independent members of the senate. The pilot program for Capital District shuttle service continues for the 2016-17 school year with weekend shuttles taking place on select dates and times, detailed below! SLC focuses on student rights and works to improve the student experience at RPI. This versatile committee collaborates with various student organizations and Rensselaer administration to alleviate student life issues through initiatives and policy discussion.
